I don't need any prizes, but I want to write down my experiences to express my gratitude to Flarum.
I come from China. Over a decade ago, I used Discuz to operate a BBS dedicated to a well-known Chinese writer. At its peak, the number of posts reached up to 220,000. In 2017, I felt that Discuz's presentation could no longer meet my needs, so I began seeking better alternatives.
I examined many BBS products, and when I stumbled upon Flarum, I was amazed by its design. It was beautiful and felt lightweight. Most importantly, compared to other BBS products, Flarum was extremely fast.
Without hesitation, I migrated a community with millions of posts to Flarum within a single day. Thus began my relationship with Flarum.
In 2019, my community was shut down for certain reasons.
In 2020, my company also closed down. I disbanded my team, sold all office equipment, and incurred debts. I was in a low point in my life.
Amidst the confusion, I began striving to start anew. I only had some front-end skills and knew nothing about the back end, but I also didn't have the money to hire. So I started learning back-end technologies on my own. I wanted to build a technical blog to record some of my learning processes and experiences.
When I was preparing to set up this blog, I changed my mind. I thought that in addition to publishing some technical experiences myself, I also wanted other learners to participate in discussions and exchanges. So I built this community using Flarum again, which is https://wyz.xyz.

Currently, there are around 1,000 visitors daily.
In these past few years, I went through a low period in my life. I learned PHP, Laravel, Vue, React, Flutter, and Go. I developed several products by myself. From design to front-end to back-end, it was all me. Some of these products have already become profitable.
Now, I often log into https://discuss.flarum.org to see if there are any good extensions, new developments, or new versions. I love Flarum. I hope it can continue indefinitely. I know that AI is developing rapidly, and the world seems to be being upended by AI. The technical barriers have become very low. Many people have lost the motivation to post; when they have problems, they turn to AI for solutions. But on the other hand, because the technical barriers have become very low, everyone can participate in technological creation, and good products will be discovered by more people.
The design, architecture, experience, and certain values of FlarumâI have always believed that AI cannot innovate such a product. But with the value of AI, Flarum will become better, and more and more people will participate in developing extensions, themes, and contributing.
