14569 abc123 You can use freehost like InfinityFree, AeonFree. Its software installer can automatically install Flarum for you. If you need to install extensions, just use the built-in Extension Manager. If it shows that Update Flarum requires you to enter the database password when installing the extension, it can be found in config.php in the Flarum directory.

ernestdefoe abc123 There are a bunch of "non-profit" websites out there. Most owners pay their own hosting fees or they use services like FreeFlarum and the sites that 14569 mentioned. Seems like to me you want the "good" stuff for free just because your site is "non-profit" like millions of other sites out there. I'm not trying to be harsh or anything just trying to point out that just because something is non-profit doesn't always mean you get things for free other than using free services like the ones that have been mentioned.
ernestdefoe abc123 It sounds like you can run your site on a free/cheap shared host. Why do you feel you need a VPS? Most people aren't going to just give someone a free VPS. @14569 suggestion is a really good one.

ernestdefoe abc123 @14569 mentioned a few free web hosts that you could use. Do you know how many forums are out there that are "non profit" that the owner spends money on every month to operate it? My site is technically a non profit because I make nothing off of it. The thing is you get what you pay for. Free hosts in my experience tend to have more issues than those you pay for.

ernestdefoe abc123 if you don’t have a credit card then like I mentioned previously you may want to look into FreeFlarum. You can do pretty much anything using their service as you can with shared hosting or a VPS and the best part it’s your favorite word “free”.
ernestdefoe abc123 or you could just use any of the services suggested. Hosting is cheap now a days for the most part and has been stated there are several free options that have been provided in this thread.
ernestdefoe treyb I totally agree. I would have considered helping had they tried one of the other suggestions first and it not work for them, but coming in here at first trying to get a VPS for free and then was like well shared would work too but instead of trying some of the options mentioned they act like they aren't good enough because their site is non-profit. Like I said there are millions of sites out there that are non-profit but the owners use services like those mentioned or pay for their hosting.
