thecodingwizard When someone (say me) writes a post, shouldn't they by default be following their post? For example, I just wrote this post. If someone replies without mentioning (@ thecodingwizard) me, then I will never be notified about it. Is this intentional?
Berlyn Goes both ways, I personally can't be bothered with a ton of notifications. Some people just want to come back to a discussion and reply when they feel like doing so. Seeing as discussion following is a part of the core, maybe a setting to enable auto-following could be added to the core as well. The other option is to leave it the way it is currently and for someone to develop an auto-follow extension.
Toby Berlyn Seeing as discussion following is a part of the core Actually it's an extension, it will be enabled by default though 🙂 We could potentially add a setting to "automatically follow discussions I reply to", same as esoTalk has.
Dominion Toby We could potentially add a setting to "automatically follow discussions I reply to", same as esoTalk has. This is a standard convenience that I enable in pretty much every forum I use. I'd be very glad to have it.
jacko Toby We could potentially add a setting to "automatically follow discussions I reply to" I didn't see this in Beta5. Are you still considering it for a future version? It would be more than useful! ?
jacko Yes, this is frequently requested by users that test my beta version of my Flarum based forum 🙂
Kulga jacko Click on your name in upper right -> Settings -> Automatically follow discussions that I reply to
jacko Kulga Oh dear, how did I miss that? Now - how to make it default ON for all existing and future users?
