Hello everyone,
I discovered flarum just last night and been playing with it since then.
I've already managed to come up with a working installation and set it up the way I'd like to look (well most part)
First of all, let me say, I've been building online communities since 2002, and this forum script is really refreshing! Great work. Can't wait to see a stable version!
Now back to my topic. I need to set up a forum where content will be in Greek -I'll talk about the translation on a different topic- and I've noticed that this creates a problem:
When the title of a thread is in Greek (or in non-english characters, as I've noticed that's the case with Russian too) the url of the thread is like this:
http://localhost/forum/d/1--
while when the title is in english it is displayed like it should:
http://localhost/forum/d/3-test-thread-in-english
I thought that this can be solved easily with a mapping translating let's say
α -> a
ε -> e
etc...
that would result to a url on topic with title "Θέμα στα ελληνικά" to appear as:
http://localhost/forum/d/1-thema-sta-ellinika
I'm happy to work on an extension for this, but I think it should be on the core of flarum as it solves the problem in many non-english-based character languages.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this - and sorry for the long post!
