I have a special opportunity to do some promotional work for Flarum at a Showcase event based on a grant I received to help run my own project. This is a chance for me as a non coder to help contribute in my own way
The project is Nintendo Ninja News and a it's podcast show hosted on Youtube with a growing Fan Page on Facebook and a soon to be Flarum web site. I decided to change from Wordpress to Flarum because I wanted interaction to be important.
Nintendo Ninjas News is about doing things differently from other gaming sites. We don't do formal reviews or news articles because there's thousands that do the same thing. We talk about hot topics in Nintendo and the Flarum web site will be place for people to discuss games in a in depth discussion and a special section to find people to play your favorite games on different consoles such as the Wii U or 3DS.
Flarum will be showcased as a modern, forward thinking forum that captures what Nintendo Ninja News is about - going against what everyone else is doing. Plus it's nice to support another Aussie in @Toby
There is one small issue and that the showcase is on August 8th in Canberra and I'm not sure if the Beta will be released by then so we can show it in person to over a hundred people and talk about why Nintendo Ninja News are a perfect fit. I'm crossing fingers that it might work out all well in the end.
