The search facility doesn't currently seem to consider topic titles when returning results. I'd not only consider topic titles when it comes to search, I'd give them more weight than topic content and replies.
Thoughts?

The search functionality definitely needs some work. It's safe to assume there will be some developmental improvements in the upcoming beta to improve the search. I think some advanced search options would be great in future extensions too.
Good ideas. If I ever find a bit more time in a block, I'd love to experiment with some of the things that I learned in my Information Retrieval lecture in university.
Some time after Beta...
I agree, topic titles should have more weight than the content itself.
I thought it was a bug when the search didn't consider topic titles. I definitely think this should be added, even if it's something that needs to wait until after the beta phase.
has this issue yet been solved?
This definitely needs to be fixed.
Yeah this has to be fixed soon ?
Reminder!
We have not forgotten. Since this discussion was created I believe title search was added and removed two times. Each implementation caused abysmal search performance rendering it unusable.
Most recently implemented in flarum/core1741 and removed in flarum/core1764
If someone wants to open a new PR, please share some benchmarks with it, regarding how search times look on tens of thousands to millions of posts.
Just discovered my flarum version 0.1.0-beta suffers this. I understand this is still the current situation.
It seems strange that searching a small field like topic title should trash the performance of the search which is already searching potentially large amounts of thread content.
