Prosperous So long as the stable release is not out I don't see it competing with anything. Yes it's VERY promising but without stable release it's still the Biggest Soccer Talent of 14 years old...

jordanjay29 You can actually obtain your Learner driver licence at the age of 16 in Australia. ?

Prosperous At this moment Flarum can't compete with anything at the moment. A nice interface doesn't mean it's already better than the current available software. Flarum is missing some vital parts, therefore it's not even in a beta stage.

At this speed, how hard it sounds I personally think this project will die. No offense against the developers but the release timeframe is just way to slow. It's more like a free side hobby, this project would not generate a vast income for the developers in the future, meaning that it will be abandoned in the end due "lack" of time and interest.

Same fate as MyBB, SMF and phpBB. Which can't even compete with commercial forum software. Slow, old fashioned look and slow as fuck.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Flarum succeed as it has a lot of potential. I already personally offered sponsorship and hosting help, but nobody even replied, as expected...

Qarizma Fully, fully support this view. I see 4% of a massive list of issues and without some serious prioritization, manpower and/or financial support this would take forever to finish.

I'm using Flarum as a visitor for some months now and have not encountered one problem. Very good job, but that makes one wonder what more really is needed to see an initial launch of Flarum in a basic form.

What Flarum already has at the stages it is in now is already putting pressure on forum software that has been around for many years.

            Enough said. ?

Hi Qarizma, yes, you are right, this is hard to read.

Not because you're saying wrong things, but because you make some good points. I am sorry for the slow movement in the last few weeks, and the lack of communication from my side. I understand the frustration.

I also need to ask you to see the other side (and I know we keep saying this over and over), though: yes, this is very much a volunteer project. Which means we are limited by the rest of our lives. Yes, Flarum is also a passion project, but it is not my #1 life priority. I admit I underestimated the amount of time I could invest, and did so again and again, but I am nonetheless determined to get a stable release out, see our last community update.

I wrote about some of this in the community update, and I will gladly repeat myself. Flarum at this point is already pretty strong - not because of its pace of development, but because of its community: Even though we haven't had a single stable release yet, we already have lots of forum activity, community members helping each other, coming up with their own resources, and lots of resources. Not to forget the Flarum team, which is much bigger than us slacking developers. ? And that's what makes me very optimistic about the future. ?

As for support etc.: If you're still interested, may I ask you to kindly point me to your question that got no reply? I am sure we can get something set up for you to be involved in supporting this project in whatever way. ?

Oh great, now I forgot the main point why I was writing this.

Not sure whether you have seen this, but I took the largest part of today to finally and review a large bunch of the long-standing pull requests that have been waiting in the queue for quite some time. Cheers to our amazing code contributors, that have stepped in and hacked away at some of the tickets and bug reports!

After the list in my mailbox just grew larger and larger (quite overwhelmingly so), I finally took a deep breath today and jumped in. I hope to continue in the next days.

Well done Franz. This is great news. ?

Franz ok, read up on your activity. Thanks for going over them! Well done.

I certainly hope the activity of our community will further motivate core development activities ?
