if some how to minimize the Start a Discussion and downwards properly and to basically have it hidden on sidebar like this would suit its purpose for both on a desktop and mobile

I could see someone creating a theme for this, but going as far as changing it completely I kinda have my doubts on that. Plus as it stands Flarum works pretty well on mobile devices, not only that but also on desktops/laptops as well.

so if you look this can be beneficial and take less space for mobile users and desktop users as it sticks to the left side bar and if we need to pull out anything just click on it and voila.

Also you can use icons plus tags still together but the whole concept is to have less clutter on home page as the sidebar would defiantly do the trick for flarum.

Franz I agree. A "toggleable" sidebar is what will be needed, and I am not talking about auto-hide, but a small toggle icon, like the site that [deleted] mentions does, that will hide/show the side menu.

the whole idea is to save space for mobile devices and i hope you take look at the potential of possibly using this type of mechanism.

I'd be careful with calling something like this more user-friendly. Icons rarely have discoverable meaning; so they should be used together with text in most cases.

All that needs to be done for front page is something similar to what happens on a topic page (like this one). See the top left, hover mouse on it.

I disagree and here is why.... if we have it set up correctly the first time before BETA is launched we wont be having as many issues as there currently is with different mobile devices and different browsers. Overall to be honest it really helps the space thats needed especially for small screen mobile devices.

[deleted] I'll give it to you, it's a good idea, but I don't see this happening to Flarum as of right now (Of course unless someone creates a extension & theme for this.) Also putting everything off to one side could just end up causing one big mess on that side of the screen and will more than likely distract the viewers from the beauty of the forum itself.
