Bishwas-py unfortunately, I have no idea. It's a dependency of a dependency we use. I'm assuming it has something to do with supporting older PHP versions or versions compiled without some modules.

I have no idea why their version numbers are so messed up or why ramsey/uuid requires a specific version of it without allowing minor/patch updates.

I'm trying to allow .ics files using mime type ^text/calendar/.* but no dice.. I always get Uploading files of this type is not allowed, any advice you can offer? I've also tried adding 'ics, .ics' to the extention csv list.

Bishwas-py why did you combine all your mime types? You can simple add additional ones and then assign one mime type per row:

video\/(3gpp|mp4|mpeg|quicktime|webm) on one row and then the next, because I bet the regex is wrong somewhere

Justoverclock the tcfapi one seems about something not every browser supports, the other one is caused by imgur, I cannot influence either of these as these are used/added by third party libraries.

Bishwas-py the "preview" template included in this extension currently only works for images, by directing linking to the file inside of an img tag. There's no thumbnail generator.

If we go add some sort of thumbnail generator in the future, then it would be feasible to add thumbnail support for non-image files.

As discussed previously, using a combination of the simple URL template in fof/upload and a custom MediaEmbed template, one could implement a custom preview script on their forum.

What's that URL template?

Bishwas-py I think it's named "Just URL" in the dropdown.

Are you not finding how to enable it, or are you asking what it looks like once inserted? It just inserts the direct link to the uploaded file in the post body.

Bishwas-py media embed can possibly render pdf, not sure though. For media embed to identify and render such links you need upload to configure to just show the URL, not any bbcode. It's the template option next to the mime that allows defining that.

As said I am not sure whether media embed actually allows rendering this.
