You can test the upload on https://community.teklab.de it works. Create a topic in "off-topic" and upload a file.

What is not possible: delete files from the database and the file system. Or how are files deleted when the posts are edited or removed?

ChristianFrankenstein nothing happens to files when you delete or edit a post. You will have to clean manually if you want.

Select Amazon S3 and your bucket
Go to "permissions" and click on the button bucket policy

ChristianFrankenstein Awesome just set up all that. Now for the configuration in the extension itself. Where Do I find this information on AWS:

AWS S3 storage settings, Key, Secret, Bucket, Region

Go to AWS IAM and create an user with "Access type" = Programmatic access. click "next"
Create a group "mytestgroup" with policy AmazonS3FullAccess activate the checkbox, click "create group" and "next"
Now click "create user" and you will get the Key and Secret.

AWS Storage settings in flarum
Key = Your Key
Secret = Your Secret
Bucket = Your Bucket name
Region = us-east-1 or so. Its only needed for upload.

I think I followed this right... but when I drag an image into a post nothing happens.

So I thought it was my image size so I made that bigger, and did a ctr-f5 still get an opps something went wrong error

Why are you running composer require flagrow/upload /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/Flarum?

Instead, you should navigate to the folder, assuming its /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/Flarum, and run composer require flagrow/upload.

Always run composer commands in the Flarum root folder.

Did I do something wrong? Members cannot see the upload option. Only admin can see the upload option.

Yes, based on the mime type regular expressions you can prevent uploading of any type.

The full image template practically includes the full image in the forum, the hotlinking protection put in place is then indeed circumvented. You could set up hotlink protection in any other way of course.

Finally, think I almost have the imgur working.... Images I upload are being attached but are not displaying in the post. Any ideas? You can see my example here:

MikeJones For those who have the same issue as me you have to have the setting "complete image preview template" selected and then it will work. Thanks, @luceos for the help in chat!
