Low cost way of setting up Flarum?

I've heard that two hosting services targeting Flarum specifically will offer a public beta within the first quarter of this year.

An alternative solution is getting a vps or composer-enabled shared hosting package somewhere and do installation yourself.

luceos Hiya this is interesting - do you think it will definitely happen as I'm happy to wait another month or so.

I would love to start using Flarum on my site but I'm not a developer, so getting it up and running is quite daunting.

And I was able to grab flarum files on my PC then I uploaded it to shared hosting server and it worked great! does it also need composer to be installed on the shared server to get flarum working after installation, sorry for the question i used to use xenforo and I'm not familiar with flarum yet, php programming is just a hobby for me that I've learned myself from online resources by errors and trials ?

I'm waiting for the stable release to use this software as a community ?

You can definitely go about things that way, however Composer is the only recommended way to get your own instance of Flarum at the moment. The normal stable release will provide a way to download and upload the files as you would any other forum software.

There was an error regarding the forum installation on the free webhost due to https encryption in the url, now I removed the encryption from url in config and its working great now, you may have a look its working perfect ? we hope we will have the stable software soon to use it in production websites ASAP...

Prosperous yep ? I really hope I can transfer my website to flarum but beta can't be used for production websites plus I try to understand how it works, its 100% different from xenforo, vbulletin which I used... the most imp thing is its very lighter than both ?

Prosperous mmmm to be honest I really want to use it but it still lake some important admin privileges that prevent me from taking the decision ? Flarum is agreat software, I must take a look every day on the forum here, I love the browsing over the discussions here!

Currently using free-tier Amazon AWS and S3 bucket. I have used it for 3 months now, still haven't been billed.
Great for testing. I'm sure when enough users join and start uploading data, eventually a bill will come in.

I don't know what Flarum have prepared but I will definitely have something up and running fairly soon. I'm just finalising a few things as we speak and getting everything in place so as to make everything as smooth as possible.
