@luceos ever planning to make a similar extension as this one but a private chat extension.... Kinda like messaging apps such as kik but integrated into the forum

[deleted] the idea is to move closer to chat with this extension in the future. It will require a pusher token though. I might spent some time in the coming weeks figuring out a way to implement this.

As said before, Byobu will move more towards real time chat once the basics are set up. With pusher natively in Flarum and my experience with pusher, slanger and websockets this is not a challenge.

Just tagged 0.1.0-beta.10:

Access logic has been rewritten to fix some edge cases especially when working with the tags extension.
Now shows Private Discussions with flagged posts to mods and shows only flagged posts in those discussions as long as the flag exists.

Extension will stay beta until I've fixed the issue with making private discussions public on de-activation of the extension!

I have installed this extension and everything seems to be working fine,
however, when i run php flarum cache:clear or migrate i get

PHP Fatal error:  Cannot use Flarum\Core\Access\AbstractPolicy as AbstractPolicy because the name is,
already in use in /dev.server.com/vendor/flagrow/byobu/src/Access/ApprovePrivateDiscussions.php on line 5

if i remove the this extension, the cache:clear and migrate works fine.
Any suggestions?

luceos Great plugin as always. Just going to install it ?

I know it is still labelled BETA until you can clear private discussions upon plugin deactivation (a feature I would like). I presume it is save to install now regardless as that feature will definitely be coming? ?

Installed and currently testing with a few users...

One thing I have noticed is the count doesn't seem to increase when posts have been made? So people aren't looking in the private discussions as assume they are empty? Is this by design or a bug? ?

yekenuk not sure, it doesn't update a field related to the amount of publicly visible posts.

Thanks for your efforts @luceos .. something I noticed..I find it hard to keep track of the private chats. It would be cool if there was a dedicated area, like a button with a drop down that shows all private messages (as it is known from Facebook for example) .. or in the meantime a tag that only applies to private discussions where I can see all the private discussions. Or am I missing something?

chaosbunker a dedicated page (with custom markup) and custom button have been in the first proof of concept and will be re-introduced.
