FriendsOfFlarum Byōbu, well integrated, advanced private discussions
Sorry, this question is from the byobu extension.
I have checked some information and it indicates that there is a problem with the email address, but I tested sending emails on my forum and it works fine, users can receive emails from the email address set in the forum.
I double-checked and modified my domain resolution records, including adding SPF resolution, etc., and I still can't use byobu extension properly.
Requesting support.
What exactly does URL/private when the user is not logged in? I noticed that unlike for example URL/following which does not show any content, it shows normal discussions but with a particular order.
Is there any extension that the user can call each other or do screen sharing?
Bishwas-py no there is not.
JRay JRay @luceos any ETA on the fix here for long threads? Sounds like it might be a re-write. I understand how painful that is. Just wondering if there was a plan or any progress updates?
Thanks for all you do!
Any update on getting this working again? My users are cranky that I had to take PMs away.
@luceos is Byobu toast as of beta-15? I know you do so much for this community and not trying to pressure. But I really need to a PM solution since this broke.
If this is going to be fixed at some point, I'll keep waiting. But if there are major issues, I may need to try another solution. Just some thoughts and/or updates would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I had a question regarding Byōbu and search engine crawlers.
I noticed private discussions follow the same URL pattern as standard ones. I.e.
When a search engine is allowed to craw the site it may then be able to pick up content within private conversations and index this also.
Is there any future plan to label these in a way so that I can have robots index all content, rather than just the conversation lists on the tag page?
rovvp only logged in users can see their own discussions.
You could guess an ID exists, but it will just show error 404 and you won't see anything. Try to open the link in private browsing to see what a search engine would.
Or are you suggesting that search engines should be able to read them? What's the use case for that?
clarkwinkelmann My concern is that private discussion topics would be indexable by search engines. I suppose if the private discussions are hidden from bots this is not an issue.
Can you confirm? The last thing we would want is people private discussions visible on search engines.

Bots are not logged in, so they have the same access levels as guests. If a guest cannot see something, bots shouldn't be able to either. So no, bots wouldn't be able to see private discussions as long as the private discussions are implemented properly.
An update for beta 16?
Any news on the performance issue ?
Arnold hi, are you sure?
I can't create private discussions, it gives me error.
