I realized a little problem with Byobu today, and I'm wondering if there is an existing solution, or a need for a new feature?
I want administrators on my forum to be able to open private discussions with anyone. This is necessary for moderation purposes, and I've configured it to allow this.
However, I realized that we have no way to actually tell who has private discussions enabled and who doesn't... so if we send someone a private discussion for non-moderator reasons, we might violate their wishes without meaning to. I'm a bit wary now of sending general PDs to people, because they might not actually want to get them, and I wouldn't know it because I have admin rights.
Is there a way I've missed to determine if a user has blocked PDs before I try starting one (as an administrator)?
If not, could an indicator of some kind be added? Or, possibly an override window like how you can override tags as an administrative action, that way you know that what you're doing is admin-only?
Basically, I want something to indicate to me "This user has PDs turned off, do not start a PD with them unless it is for official business".
