Yes, some extensions might be posted without super detailed instructions, but typically if the extension author is still active, you can reply to the thread and get help.
This is an example though where the extension author may no longer be active here. And this was marked incompatible. So, use it at your own risk. But again, from what I see it should just work after you install and activate it (if it is still compatible).
