we installed Masquerade and defined a question with dropdown of options. this question with dropdown is appearing in admin login , but in member login only question is displayed no option to select answer

and i did not understand how this Masquerade will work, can i see any demo videos in youtube on this extension

Is there an option to 'unhide' the emailadres in the user bio? it currently shows some asteriks.

My forum only consists of trusted users.

ruben302 unfortunately I don't think it can be easily changed.

I'm not really sure why this was implemented in the first place. It's completely client-side so it has nothing to do with access control. However it could prevent over-the-shoulder surfing.

If the components were exported, the method could be monkey-patched but it doesn't look like this is exported for other extensions to modify.

Small suggestion for some point in the future. If user leaves a field blank and they are allowed to leave it blank, then it doesn’t show in the profile. As in the label. Because right now if someone doesn’t fill in a field it’s like this:

Name: Joe
Location:
Favorite color:
Favorite number: 11

The middle two should be hidden unless the user inputs something.

010101 because some people might want or not want it we have added a className that can be used to hide (or display differently) the field using custom CSS if the owner wants it. The class is called .Masquerade-Bio-Set--empty

This was discussed in FriendsOfFlarum/masquerade58 which is now considered solved.

Paco there's no built-in option for this at this time.

If you wanted to implement it yourself, it should be possible to insert the value there using the javascript extension API without any need to modify the original extension, since the data is already loaded in the store for the user card.

Hi everyone! Does masquerade have issues with other extensions apart from the Terms? My setting is this:

View masquerade profile - admin only
Have masquerade profile - members
Edit the profile of other users - admin only

When I test this as a member, I can't do the following:

Edit my profile.
Enter the forums.
Log out of my account.

These issues get resolved when I changed my setting to allow members to view the masquerade profile of other users. The problem is that this setting goes against the data privacy guidelines of my organization. I'd like to set the admin as the only people who could view the profiles of all users. Would appreciate some help on how to fix this.

majbador I have not used the extension in a while, but I don't think it's designed for private profiles. So the "view" permission might need to be equal or broader than the "have" permission.

I implemented private profile fields in my paid Formulaire extension and I remember at that time this feature was exclusive to my extension. I don't think Masquerade received any significant update since.

clarkwinkelmann I see. It would be a nice update to enable users to set who can view their profiles and/or allow settings wherein all user profiles are set to private and can only be viewed by admins and the user who owns the profile. This will help out a lot in addressing security issues of users when it comes to their personal information. I hope that an update will be done to include this feature because this is a really awesome extension. The developments that were done so far are great. Thank you very much for your contributions on improving masquerade!

By the way, I've checked out Formulaire and it looks great. I'll probably use it in the future when the website will start discussions which will require members to provide more complex information. Congratulations!

SrJulius8 as discussed previously in clarkwinkelmann I don't think it's possible in the current version of the extension.

The access level for editing own fields has to be the same as read access. If the fields can only be edited by moderators, you might be able to raise the permission so nobody but moderators see the page, including the users themselves if they aren't moderators.

I find it a pity that the complete information is displayed in the FoF user overview. That makes things a bit confusing. It would be nicer if the information could only be seen in the profile itself.

I'm trying to make a required birthday field but haven't found a stable option except for another birthday extension which will do for now.
