If you have SSH on your local machine, or access to a machine with SSH then it can be done, but the method is a real pain (I managed to get it installed on Free Hosting), I personally wouldn't use it in production (the method, that is). For what it's worth, it's best waiting for a version that can do this out of the box. It will be well worth the wait!
