Would it be possible to get some sample "Hello World" extensions so we can try to write our own?
Seems like a fair few layers involved and am unsure where I could even start, to attempt and port over some of existing functionality from our current software that I'm missing in Flarum.
Extensions I am eager to try and create are
- Ads: Simple banner code with JS in the header and perhaps a few banner blocks using DFP in positions like "Header / Footer" or a combination of "Post Number" and "Above / Below Post". This would allow me to add a banner ad to, say "Above Post 2" or "Below Last Post".
- Akismet: On submitting a post (new thread or reply), I'd like to get Akismet to scan it for spam.
- User Registration: Would like to be able to submit a user's registration IP etc, to StopForumSpam to check if it a well known spammer or bad IP range.
- Embedly Support: If a user submits a link at the minimum, I'd like to be able to show an embedly card
Not very familiar with Laravel etc, so happy to collaborate or help fund some of these extensions as open sourced for everyone to use.
Longer term needs:
- OAuth / Social Media logins,
- Mobile Client (!) with proper push / banner and social media support - perhaps written using a cross platform setup like Cordova.
- Editor like Redactor (happy to donate an OEM license if it falls within the scope of the project - comes with a 30 day money back guarantee).
- vBulletin importer
- Attachment Support
etc etc ..
