0E800 The contributor badges (I believe) have been given to those who have contributed to Flarum directly multiple times by making PRs to its source code.
Of course, it's not needed to say that most of the support comes in indirect ways by having such a great community, amazing extension developers who you can find in the extensions tag, and these great moderators and users that support and are hyped up about Flarum.
As you were questioning why you don't have a Contributor role, I'm guessing you never actually hovered over it to see the name ?
Even though extension developers aren't contributors, I think it'd be also a neat thing to have a role for those who have made any number of extensions to show our appreciation.
