Drilling-Billy The only problem is that Flarum is not moving fast enough forward.
That's a question of one's perspective. I look at flarum and see a software, that is under development. I compare the software and its team of developers with other softwares and their developers and then decide for myself, which of these packages fits my needs best. I can not pick one software and than wish for a different developer team (or try to change their approach).
And then reading apologies again for some previous period where the dev team also had school and other tasks.
Nobody has to apologise. Flarum is a gift for us all, you don't pay a single penny, so why should anyone have a say in the time and energy the developers put into this project?
As more and more users are getting into this forum, more and more will ask very understandable questions like Meow.
Understandable... maybe, but not justifiable in my opinion.
For me as a potential end-user having just moderate computer skills but looking for a real clean forum for our company this is not very promising.
This may be true.
It makes me wonder if Flarums future is to serve users like me or stay in the Dev-Zone with Techy Coders. Also no problem but then no serious contender for any already widely available Forum Software.
The developers have been quite clear in this regard. During the beta phase (which lasts as long as necessary) flarum ist a software with prerequisits that are more suitable to those with a little more than "just moderate computer skills". Once the first non-beta version is out, the software will be easier to handle.
Also no problem but then no serious contender for any already widely available Forum Software.
I don't think that competing with other softwares is a main concern for the developers right now. Having said that, I think that for me flarum is already a very attractive alternative to old school softwares like MyBB, Vanilla, VBulletin / Xenforo and new school approaches like Discourse and NodeBB.
