It would be great, if user could set to receive email notification on every new post, not only new discussion. Is it possible?

It adds Discussion Created and User Created notification ability to your personal user settings page if you have the permission to use these.

luceos I watched the whole site all the settings and still can not see 🙂

First, go to your permissions and enable the following permissions to your liking:

Allowed to receive notification upon new discussion
Allowed to receive notification upon new user

Then flush cache php flarum cache:clear, then visit your settings; click your avatar, settings, the notification grid should now show two additional lines:

Someone creates a discussion
When someone registers

Seems like an existing issue, I'll need to go over all extensions after beta 8 releases anyway..

What it the status of beta8 release for this extension?

@luceos Are you going to upgrade this extension to beta8? If yes, when? I'm asking, because this is the last extension that prevents me from upgrading my forum.

Staszek I'd say that, as the tag "Abandoned" was just applied, this would mean that there are no known plans to update it.

mina But few posts above, not long ago, author wrote, that he will upgrade it. It is Luceos, one of core developers, so it is possible, that he will do it. Besides, in general Abandoned tag is applied to topics for all extensions, that have not been upgraded for some time, and it does not mean that in the future it will not be upgraded.

@luceos Same question as before - what are your plans for this extension? Is there a chance, that you will update it to beta8?

Staszek plans yes, however we are maintaining quite a bunch of extensions and as I'm pretty much alone in flagrow right now in terms of active development, the going is very, very slow.

Today I pushed out analytics for beta 8 and I'm working on mason and masquerade.

Who else is waiting for this extension to be upgraded? If you do - like this post. For me it's very important, because my community needs to have email notifications of every new discussion, as I use Flarum for communication and information platform for a group of people. And this still keeps me from upgrade to beta 8.
But if I'm among a few - I understand that it is not upgraded yet. But I would be very grateful for this extension to be upgraded.

Staszek it's not that I don't want to upgrade it, it's about having the time to do so.. Cool, much appreciate your work. I'm just asking, not demanding it. I understand, that family and other things has priorities.
I saw in Github that @Ralkage did some beta 8 work for it in his fork. Ralkage, are you planning to finish it any time soon? If not, can you make a pull request, and let me try to finish this?

Staszek as far as I know, the recent PR's I made puts this extension in a fully functional beta 8 compatibility state.

@luceos just has to merge my last PR and create a new release once he gives the final approval 🤗
