Although this is a joke, I think this highlights the reason why an “achievements” extension isn’t a good idea (in my opinion). Likes are meant to give a post good reputation, and hopefully in the future give users good reputation. If there are extra motives behind liking posts, that devalues likes. You aren’t liking things because you like them, but because you want an achievement.
One could argue that an achievements extension wouldn’t have such a ridiculous achievement, but it’s the same for any other acheivement. They’re baseless milestones. Something similar that would encourage interaction on the forums would be a clever reputation meter or number. Those who post quality posts more frequently would be rewarded with a higher number than those posting posts of less quality or less frequently.
