Unfortunately, this (otherwise interesting) discussion derailed quickly. And we haven't handled it in the best way possible. For that, we apologize. It is due in part to a lack in tools (private messaging for communication with those involved, public records of moderator actions - both of which will be improved) and in part to internal misunderstandings of our processes for such situations.
We appreciate the (private) feedback and will do our best to improve.
That said: As stated in our guidelines, we do not tolerate personal attacks on other forum members. This is not YouTube. ? Please err on the side of politeness, take your time to respond - especially if you feel things get emotional - and, overall, stay cool. ?
So, both @0E800 and @Freddy, consider this a warning. Repeated offenses will lead to a temporary suspension.
In the future, please use our Flag functionality to bring threads to the attention of moderator actions. In everyone's interest, I also urge you to stay calm and let the moderators handle it, instead of doing so yourself. Even with the best of intentions, this is often not helpful for settling a situation.
And finally, we do not want to put a stop sign on this interesting topic. Please feel free to discuss it in another thread.
