Not sure how I feel about this.

It does mention this all the way at the bottom: "This release is for hosting, if you are on SSH, check flarum.org".

There is at least some guidance but I really don't think it's worth requesting for them to take it down. Mainly because it is "Open Sourced". Again, I am biased in this situation.

Oh and FYI, Invision-Virus is a nulled software community which originally began hosting nulled copies of Invision Powered Board software. It's one of those gray areas I stay out of.

Since Flarum is MIT licensed, anyone could do this. The problem is that they're using Flarum's name, and this gives the impression that this is Flarum, instead of one modified to work via FTP and not SSH. We're happy to see those solutions published here, but it gets tricky on a third party site.

Then again, it's a piracy site, it's not really worth the energy of pursuing. Pirates gonna pirate.

I only have two things to say about this.

I myself had to laugh at this, Flarum being free to the public getting attention from a null script distributor... lol
In all seriousness, this just shows that Flarum is starting to get more attention compared to the larger forum software.

I want to point out that nulled scripts often contain callbacks, do-follow back-links, back-doors, and countless other additions that can be unpleasant at best.

Of course, it's the same risk every pirates run when using cracked software, alas, on a website it could potentially hit more people faster then virus.

And since the "hosting version" is hosted on a nulled page, rather then posted here for direct benefit for this community, I would be extremely careful of using it, even if it provides an easier "install".

andreherberth For example vBulletin. It used to have way too many nulled scripts, but why? Did someone just wanted to go full robin hood and spent hundreds of dollars, cracked some safety stuff and released it to public? Nope.

As you said there used to be many back-doors. They'd just keylog your form data silently. This way, if you made a forum with a nulled script and reached large amount of users, ids, passwords and all the other data were already stolen.

Nulled software is not cool, is not good, shouldn't be used and avoided. "But it's expensive" is not an excuse, go save some money and buy your favourite software later on with lots of benefits.

That was a message for future readers of this topic.
