How do you allow file and image uploads to your Flarum?

If you allow uploads of file attachments and images on your Flarum. What would you advice as the best solution(s)?

Extension? markdown? bbcode? FAQ detailing how to use imgur or dropbox?

What would be the best alternative to using an extension?

For my forum most of the uploads will be text files (server config files), screenshots of issues and log files.

Ralkage With this extension even images you have to download them using file manager.

Is there a setting to display uploaded images inline? Without the extra step to download locally?

There are no alternatives. Why do you need an alternative? Does it not work for you?

Probably an external script that allows direct uploads to a folder on your server and displays the link on success. In other words, there's no other alternative for a Flarum extension right now, only manual uploads and linking them. You could do the same with an external service like imgur.

It works but knowledge is power. I'm always curious from multiple angles. Rather than wait till the unthinkable to scramble for alternatives.

Mine looks like this. Once uploaded the reader has to now click download to view. Cannot images be inline to the width of the thread?

ahmed It's not, there are extensions that do this! Flarum doesn't try to include all the bells and whistles, it's goal is to be an attractive, simple forum that's easily extensible. And I think the fact that there are two extensions (Imgur Upload by matteocontrini and Upload by Flagrow) should illustrate just how well that model works.
