Currently, I can see a way of creating a group easily via the admin panel.. but how would I go about adding users into a group?

tarun Go to a user's profile -> Click on "Controls" -> In the dropdown menu, select "Edit" -> Assign groups

Better question would be is how to change default member group. XD

Franz Any easy way to do this for hundreds of users at a time? Sort of like a user and group administration page...

Franz Would you be considering this as an extension included by default? If so, any timeframe in mind?

tarun Ah I see. Is that for user priviledges? I was thinking this was for groups that could have their own private sections of the forums.

Aesahaettr You can use groups and tag-permissions creatively to enable many use cases. For example, you could create a few tags that can be used only by a particular group that you created. See the gif below.. @Toby had posted this on gitter a few weeks back.

@Toby Franz I feel that the groups and tag-permission features are integral to enabling diverse use cases for Flarum.. currently, there doesn't seem to be any mention regarding "Groups" in the roadmap.. Do you have anything planned for this feature? It would be great if we can have an admin panel where we can manage groups and the users within them using bulk actions.

tarun I agree. I am planning on using Flarum for a site where I will be managing a lot of different groups. Currently (and I could be wrong) the admin settings for this looks like it would be good for managing a few groups, but not a ton.

+1 for easy bulk actions, group management etc.
My app has hundreds of groups, and we'd like each of them to automatically get a Flarum group with access to their automatically created private forum. Not straight forward, but I believe it should be doable.

+1 for default group; is this an official feature request already?

            Edit: Yeah nevermind.

On the topic, another feature down the road would be an administrative "View As" feature to preview any combination of group memberships.

syntactile why to complicate the code for this? Simply have an user for testing (if that is what you want) and change its membership as needed.
