Optional tags (hidden by default)

hi there! I was thinking if is it possible add a feature or extension to make some tags hidden by default and allow users to unlock them from their profile panel.

for example, add a NSFW tag but hidden by default ^- , or think about some tag that isn't interesting for everybody

You can already partially do that with groups and permissions. Only issue, you have to ask an admin to join the group.

An extension to let users join/leave some groups by themselves could be useful to do that kind of stuff without redeveloping the whole permission system ?

Aleram the recently published group invitation extension makes it possible, at least the self-joining part.

clarkwinkelmann Yes, this is a very good extension, but it does not solve the problem of limiting (hidden) NSFW content

Aleram you can create a NSFW tag, have that tag only be visible to members of the NSFW group, and put an invitation link with no limitation to that group on a page somewhere. When users click the link, they will be offered to join the group, and then they will get access to the content that was tagged with the restricted tag. They just won't have any way to leave the group without asking a moderator.
