Linguist, customize translations with ease

KnowsCount Linguist does not control which language packs are enabled. This can be done via Flarum's extensions tab.

If you want to delete explicit translations and have them fallback to English instead, you'll have to manually delete each translation, or go in the database to mass-delete the Linguist entries.

Can you start a new support discussion about your issue with enabling language packs? Please include any relevant error message from the log file and browser javascript console.

I just released version 0.4.3 which fixes the search that would stop working when some extensions included unused translation keys. This was noticed with askvortsov's Categories.

I also removed a console.log call that had been left around.

Just installed this with composer but cant activate, I get:

phloo I have not had time to look into that yet. It's on very low priority, particularly with all the beta14-related stuff going on right now.

steph did the Composer install command finish successfully? You could try running composer dumpautoload to re-create the Composer loader files.

If that doesn't fix it, can you give us more information about your setup? Operating system, PHP version, Composer version. You can share the output of php flarum info if the command works.

clarkwinkelmann Funny I switch to php 7.4 and now it works. Could just be cause I restarted Openlitespeed and it reset cache, Who knows.

Problems can also arise if the version of PHP used on the command line is different from the version used by the webserver. I've never seen that exact error being caused by a mismatched PHP version but it could be the reason.

That could be it, server uses 7.3 and website uses 7.4.
I though I switch to 7.4 but it wat already there 😀

Released version 0.4.4

Beta 14 support.
New "Missing translations" filter replacing the old "with(out) original translations in...". This new filters allows you to find strings that have neither original not custom translations in a specific language.

This version will automatically be installed when you update to Flarum beta 14 using the official instructions.

m1d0e1 what Flarum version are you on? To install on beta 13 you could use composer require fof/linguist:0.4.3. You'll need to update the version in composer.json to * before performing the Flarum update to beta 14, or just remove and re-add it.

Very intuitive extension. I am wondering if line breaks are possible? I am translating some email bodies via linguist. In the English text field, the text is correctly formatted as expected, including line breaks. However, I am not able to introduce line breaks in my translated text field, which destroys the layout of the email.

Scolasticus multi-line text should be offered as a multi-line textarea in Linguist. I'm not seeing any issue when I try myself in Firefox. I am able to edit core.email.activate_account.body and enter line breaks, and they show up in the email.

Can you share the key of a translation that's causing issues?

Also, which version of Linguist and what browser is this happening on?

If that's a browser issue, SHIFT+ENTER or CTRL+ENTER might help.
