Support for Markdown Extra

As I'm trying to migrate to Flarum, I noticed that the current markdown extension doesn't support the tables notation, and there are at least 2000 posts in our current forum which contain tables. It would be great if you add support for Markdown Extra.

Flarum uses Litedown from what I remember and the Parser doesn't seem to support this, I would suggest asking s9e about this.

It's not part of the Litedown plugin but it's supported via the PipeTables plugin. You just need a Flarum extension that enables the PipeTables plugin.

@JoshyPHP Could you tell me how to do that or point me to some documentation? I'm not a PHP developer but am a game developer. I'd still like to give it a try though.

@SHC You can try copy/pasting this extension and replace every occurence of s9e with shc and every occurence of FancyPants with PipeTables in every file. Similarly, replace fancypants with pipetables.

That's all I know about Flarum extensions. Other people use a different structure with way more files.

Thanks @JoshyPHP, I was able to get it working with my Flarum installation. Now looking to publish it. Seems the workflow is similar to mine with Gradle in Java land.

Am now looking to get the CSS to match the default flarum theme and make it responsive. How do I tell the script to load my custom CSS?

SHC You need a less/forum/yourless.less file in your extension, and then something like this AddClientAssets.php.

How to install

composer require dogsports/flarum-ext-pipetables

Install with Composer then go to the admin panel and enable the extension.
