lakshya Its not, since it originates from a Chrome extension that you have installed, maybe ad blocker or similar (which is why it didn't load the Google script). And the issue happens for me too, and I don't have any extensions. The user issue is related to the longer error which is below the "findads" one on the picture you've sent. And no, I don't know which Chrome extension is that.

lakshya we're going in circles, and eventually off-topic

I'd suggest you to just open a new discussion about the problem here on Discuss (with the console errors attached). It doesn't seem to be related to FreeFlarum, it's rather a Flarum issue and someone else might know more and could help you. We do not have appropriate tools to debug an error like this and we can't fix it either, if it's not related to FreeFlarum (but an extension or Flarum itself).

Hello, I recently haven't been able to log in to my account on my forum. I have tried recovering it via the forget password button but I haven't set up emails yet. Is there any way one of the staff team able to help me out with this?

    Best Regards,
    Tech

Merged 1 post from Recover Password.

forum.techhost.cc and no errors but i cannot reset my pass since mail is not set up

Techout592 I've reset the encryption settings (because those were most likely to be misconfigured) and tried to register an account and the mail arrived just fine. Could you try it now, and also check your spam folder

It's giving me the following error when i try: Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again.

            Techout592

flarum.ERROR: Swift_TransportException: Connection could not be established with host 127.0.0.1 :stream_socket_client(): SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages:
            error:1408F10B:SSL routines:ssl3_get_record:wrong version number in /app/vendor/swiftmailer/swiftmailer/lib/classes/Swift/Transport/StreamBuffer.php:261

That's the error that I see. I've never seen it before, and it's strange because I can reset the password fine and the mail arrives with no error... Are you accessing the website via https://?

Techout592 that's strange, I've now experienced the error too. Setting the encryption to nothing seems to make the mail arrive fine, but as long as I use a "ssl" or "tls" encryption, it fails to initialize. Changing the port refuses the connection. This might be a limitation of Flarum's mail server.

Does it work now? It worked for me

Techout592 could you try registering a new account to see if the error happens only for your user?

Yep it's just for my user. My other user (logged in with discord) worked fine

It's not my mail server though as I have just received some emails. So not sure why it's doing this

That's strange... Perhaps your mailbox refuses the mail? That's all I can think of, as specific user accounts shouldn't have mail errors?

The mail setup for your forum is the default FreeFlarum's mail server (not a custom one, as the IP is 127.0.0.1). So it might be a bug in FreeFlarum too, although I don't think that as other users can receive mail alright.

What about logging in with Discord? Does that work?

Yeah it does but the problem is my discord account isn't my admin account.

Techout592 I've manually reset your mail settings completely. If it still doesn't work, I can make your second account (or which you have access to) admin, so you can check the settings
