gaines the checker simply goes into the database and checks if date of last post is more than 60 days, last admin login is more than 90, etc... I don't remember the exact values, but logging in as the main admin account should be enough. In case you're already logged in, post some posts and you're good to go too

Also, forums that have donated are ignored/not removed during the check

I created my forum in 5 minutes on your site and I already wish you guys had paid plans that would include extra server space, bandwidth, etc. I would pay for my site to get premium hosting with you guys if I could - and still will if you'd reach out to my privately.

tony9 we've discussed paid plans before, and we're generally not into the ideas of payments:

The name is "Free" Flarum and paid plans would mix it up for some people who could become confused.
Paid plans would require us to allocate more server resources and find a reliable payment solution (PayPal donations would not work anymore). Moreover, the implementation alongside free forums would be a struggle to implement and maintain.
It would also give people higher expectations from us, however we're just a small team of people that are doing this in their spare time and it would also require us to become a commercial entity. Let's say that some forum hosts illegal content and we don't have the time to investigate it. If it was a free forum, we can delete it - with a paid one, things get more complicated.
The idea of FreeFlarum is to provide people a starting point for their communities on which they can build upon. That's why we also decided to drop the planned feature for database imports (and for some of the reasons above-described).

IMO it would be better if we could just make a separate service for paid plans so that we can clearly distinguish it from our promise of free forums to let people get started with Flarum. But I'm afraid that this is not going to happen soon either.

FYI I have implemented some kind of "donation perks" for FreeFlarum, but I am running out of ideas. The purpose of it is that forum receives certain "perks" based on the amount that they had donated to us via PayPal. These payments would be completely voluentary and won't provide a significant forum difference (in performance, etc.). For example, donating above 7 € would remove the footer (because people are currently donating lower amounts and nearly all of it gets eaten by PayPal's fees. We said that "any amount donated" removes the footer, but when you receive 0.50 €, it's not very pleasant). Donation above 20 € would allow the forum to upload files locally to FreeFlarum (the size of the upload directories will be monitored, so noone can abuse this) and so on. But I don't know what other perks could we offer anymore...

Also, we are nearly done with the rebase and will propose an update to Flarum 1.0.3 in the near future (cca. 1 - 2 weeks). It's gonna be a bigger one and I hope that people will like the changes

Good News! I ´m await to update to 1.03 to start with yours a small forum.

About this, maybe other "middle solution" will have a paid service to help to the amateur user to change the forum to a good and cheap server to go up.

YoF are you able to access https://www.freeflarum.com or other Hetzner IPs? If not, are you able to access other Cloudflare IPs?

China has either blacklisted our IP (not likely since we have recently changed it) or our domain, we're not sure yet. If they banned our domain, we can let people not CNAME to FreeFlarum and change domain (but the new one will likely get banned soon anyways)

I can access the community or freeflarum directly, but the forum created by freeflarum must use VPN, what is the reason?

YoF the main site (https://freeflarum.com) is put behind Cloudflare's proxy, that's why it evades the China block. Forums aren't, that's why they are blocked. We could request a floating IP from Hetzner to change IP and see if the error persists. Unfortunately, there's not much else that we can do

Hi, is there any way freelarum can take advantage of free cdn like cdn.statically.io and jsdelivr.com ?

Statically is very efficient for image files, it will help ease the burden on the server and deliver it faster , and sure it's free. ( I've noticed that freeflarum, imgbb and imgur's servers don't seem to be near Southeast Asia. This causes the forums here to slow down at sometimes of the year, although it does have cache help. ) - all you need to do is add https://cdn.statically.io/img/ before the image prefix.

For : Example: https://cdn.statically.io/img/i.imgur.com/sk8Nj1u.jpeg

Jsdelivr is similar, but with js and css files

I tried using js replace to do this by adding it to the <head> tag but the system doesn't seem to allow it.

AowVN an extension could probably implement such functionality, but that is out of our scope, as we are just a hosting provider and do not maintain Flarum core or it's extensions.

I understand that the speed at which forums are accessed is sometimes a problem in different regions across the globe. A pleasant solution might be to rent more servers. But servers cost money to rent (and FreeFlarum does not have any working or tested multiserver implementation yet, although I've drafted some in the upcoming rebase). I am not against multiserver architecture, but it would take time to get it working, and that would be a better solution - for now, you can prefix external image URLs in the posts at least, or hire/ask someone to create an extension with the desired functionality
