18:07 FreeFlarum is down since 17:24 UTC. I'm investigating the root cause and will update this post as more information is available.

18:11 Service has been restored. The root cause was a crashed davfs2 driver, which is used to mount the offsite backup disk. Not sure yet how to fix or prevent this from happening. Anyone experienced with davfs2 ?

Somyrion users who are registering with specifically hotmail/outlook email addresses are not receiving their validation/activation emails

I complained with Mailgun and they've moved my account to a different IP, which seems to have resolved the issue.

Now, I'm baffled that they don't monitor these problems themselves. Granted I have a free account ? But the whole point in using their service (and eventually upgrading to a paid account) is that they take care of mail delivery.

Let me know if you experience other mail issues.

You keep saying that you have a lot of users using this service, but none of them have posted to the showcase thread, and I wonder why. I might like to join some of them. I'm sure I have similar interests to some of them.

Adding an option to publicize would be nice, so you can show the accounts that have been the most active over the last few months if they have turned the option on.

ShawnPConroy Good idea! I am planning to publish a directory of public forums soon. My first priority is to redo the site though.

FreeFlarum is upgraded to a bigger server. All forums will be unavailable during ~5 minutes within the next hour. Also, the hosting location will change from the Netherlands (Upcloud) to Germany (Hetzner). Will update this post once the migration is finished.

luceos Hetzner Cloud actually! Performance really isn't a problem (yet) so I prefer low maintenance costs over raw CPU cycles per euro.

I used FreeFlarum to make a site. I cannot figure out how to make tags or hierarchies. I assumed there would be a tags location in admin settings, but I don't see it there.

ShawnPConroy it should be available as last entry in the admin area; if it isn't then you might need to enable the extension first under "extensions"

Their cloud control panel is really good
I've used their cloud platform for another high traffic project (>20M pageviews) and it performed flawlessly.
Their prices are quite low. Probably because they have such massive economies of scale.

When beta 8 is released, will there be any announcement on what extensions will be installed or uninstalled?

000 absolutely! However, it will take a few weeks after the B8 release before FF will upgrade, because extension authors need to modify their code first.
