Steve33 you need to change the password of your admin account (e. g.: the one with ID 1), which will also take effect when logging in to FreeFlarum's settings page (https://freeflarum.com/settings), since they are the same

SKevo Hello, unfortunately I didn't fully understand that.

The admin account (User 1) has a different password than that of FreeFlarum. I would like to change the settings in FreeFlarum because the assigned default password is quite short.

This is incorrect, the password of the user with ID 1 is the same that you use to log in to FreeFlarum settings at https://freeflarum.com/settings. After forum signup, the admin is assigned a random password that is not sent in an e-mail - instead, a link to reset the password is sent. The default password is unknown to the forum admin.

Are you able to log in with the password of user with ID 1 (e. g.: admin) and the e-mail you used during forum signup (which is not your admin e-mail)?

norby I have an issue going to mysite.com rather than www.mysite.com i'm wondering if there needs to be a nameserver in addition to DNS edit? I have the DNS pointed and its showing secure when i type in www.mydomain,com but i get an error when I type it in without the www.

www and non-www are two different hostnames, FreeFlarum can't point to both. In order to make this work, you need to create a redirect from non-www to www at your domain registrar (for example, if you use Cloudflare, you can use page rules to do this)

If you mean that you, as a forum administrator, would charge users based on page loads, then that is unfortunately not allowed at FreeFlarum.

Durtdawber Trying to use the "Catch the Fish" extension. When I turn it on and adjust the settings, all I get is "Something went wrong, reload the page" errors. I can get it to work sometimes but most of the time, even it I get is active and working, I get the error message whenever I try to use it. Right now I have been testing with just Admin permissions. Is it working for you now? I can enable the extension and adjust the settings & save them without any issues

nichijou this has something to do with the database not being able to drop an index created by the extension. I'll have a look at it.

@SKevo It is still not working. I don't get errors when I turn it on and change settings but when I try to setup a new "Round" I get errors such as the following "Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again." in read at the bottom of the page. When I refresh, it actually created the round but when you try to load or list the fish, it gives the same answer but does not load any fish.

It seems that the DB query doesn't return any results, but the forum does have discussions that are older than the configured amount of days in extension's settings. Any idea what could be causing this?

@SKevo I left the extension enabled so if you want to create a round and see the issue, you can. Also I tried it with the Starter Pack of fish and also some custom ones but with the same result.

Hello everyone! I've just updated all FreeFlarum extensions to the latest version. Note that you might receive a prompt to input your database password - this is normal, and means that your database wasn't migrated (updated to the latest version) yet. If that's still the case, please head over to https://freeflarum.com/settings/forum_settings and click the fixup button to migrate your database immediately. If you run into any issues, please let me know.

Also, we will be migrating all GitHub extension request to the new forum at https://support.freeflarum.com soon. This decision was made because not everyone has a GitHub account, so I thought that having these requests at an easy-to-access place instead would be better and more accessible to everyone. As time moves on, more and more updates will be shared at the other forum instead - so if you haven't already, be sure to pay it a visit to get used to the (slightly) new format, as I assume that this discussion will likely be deprecated and locked in the future (after the new forum is fully functional and running)

Trc4 I am not sure whether that would be possible through a custom Flarum extension. I would assume that the database prompt page is hard-coded into Flarum, however a flag could be set at the webserver level to see if a forum had its extensions updated and didn't have its database migrated yet (something I thought about earlier). However, I can't implement this right now due to lack of spare time. If everything goes well with my exams, I will definitely have a look at making this more user-friendly as soon as possible though, as I understand that the userbases of forums hosted by FreeFlarum grow every day, and such ideas will have to be implemented sooner or later.

TichySlav I believe that no Flarum extension currently has this functionality, but I think I vaguely remember that something like this was brought up as an idea for future Flarum/extension releases? If you want, you can check the discussion(s) of the respective extension(s) and contribute with your ideas, as FreeFlarum (as a hosting provider) has no control over making such personalized displays possible at the moment.

Brayden_Shelton not sure which extension/feature are you using to manage user levels, but I don't think sending notification on level change is possible at the moment. However, you can submit a suggestion to that extension's author, so that feature could be implemented in the future.

Hello, after few months i got my forum wiped-out but the id still being reserved. The forum return with error 404 for no explaination. It's look like the database was not entirely clean correctly and still got leftovers for no reason.
