CNames don't work with non-subdomains. You should point minhblog.tk with an A record to 159.69.22.166. Please note, if ever the IP changes you need to also update that IP.

luceos MinhBTX You have to use a CNAME, otherwise it won't work. Note: if you use a CNAME on your top-level domain (eg xyz.com), you won't be able to use other DNS features for that top level (such as email or other subdomains). So it is recommended to use a subdomain.

MinhBTX You really need a cname, not an A record. And then enter your custom domain at freeflarum.

Hello, I'm quite satisfied with FreeFlarum. Could you add the Night Mode by ReFlar extension on the next update, please? That would be awesome. Thanks ?

PSA: the FreeFlarum backup system has been revamped. I was using DAVFS2 to access a hosted external storage provider, but this system doesn't handle your large volume of forums well ? I've refactored the upload functions so that backups work solidly again.

FreeFlarum makes file and database backups at least every 24h, with a retention of 7 days. I'd say, pretty good value for money for a free service ?

        Noted! Eagerly awaiting beta8...

        9 days later

I am getting 504 gateway timeouts on every FreeFlarum forum I have tried.... is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Frink That may be the reason why I am getting the same issue when trying to view turboprogramming's new theme. I'm sure @[deleted] will get it sorted soon.

Prosperous Yeah, thats when I started looking. I tried other FreeFlarum forums I knew existed, and they all timed out

Frink I am also getting timeouts on my forum. This is bad because I have a started to get people to join my forum which is about a local sports team and there was great news today and now no one can access the forum.

Hi everyone! Glad to see I'm not alone. I know freeflarum.com is also broken right now, let's all hope for the best!

freeflarum.com seems to be up. Maybe there are some server issues or maybe it's getting updated? Can't get too mad at @Sanguine being that it's free and awesome!

Frink Prosperous -V- Ebi FreeFlarum and most of its forums were down today since 2:37 UTC but the service has been restored. The cause was a sudden full disk, which happened so fast that the early warning system and the failure state occurred almost simultaneously. The cause was a infinite stream of PHP error messages such as:

PHP message: PHP Notice: Undefined variable: driver in /public/vendor/illuminate/support/Manager.php on line 84
PHP message: PHP Warning: Missing argument 1 for Illuminate\Support\Manager::createDriver(), called in /public/vendor/i

I suspect that it has to do with Flarum not validating input for the driver on the SMTP settings page.

Quick fix: disable logging for now.
Long term fix: validate cause and ensure input validation on mail settings page
Abstract fix: implement ring buffer for log files, so they never grow beyond a certain size

Sanguine Flarum not validating input for the driver on the SMTP settings page

Yes, that's a known issue; very frustrating because the user cannot restore the forum without editing the database manually. Validation might be problematic too because we're using Laravel and the mail driver manager is extensible..

Please note you already ran into this once ?
