Currently FreeFlarum is targetted by a DDoS from roughly 700 Chinese IPs (Alibaba). I'm not sure what their objective is, as they are targeting an empty forum. All requests contain the "Go httpclient" user agent. Luckily for FreeFlarum users, the attack is quite amateurish and there is no noticable impact to the service.

Were the instructions at one point for getting a forum removed? I was looking through this post a little while back, and I remember seeing something, but I can't find it now ?

Frink as far as I know, you'd generally just email info@freeflarum.com, though, you can also download your data as well aka the entire DB.

Ralkage I emailed him but I got no response, the forum I'm no longer using is still online for no reason, filling up his server.

As admin, create post "DELETE THIS FORUM"
Send notification to info@freeflarum.com and I will purge it manually

I've also got another question.

Is it possible to add flags to the language selector at the top? I've running a forum in my native language, but it will also attract some English traffic. I want my native language as the default language, which I currently have, but feedback from English users is that it's not obvious where to change the language and flags would make it much easier.

Another option would be to force users to choose a language at sign up. Is this possible, if the first option isn't?

Niemi Unfortunately no one knows when beta.8 will be released, but there are a couple of ways you can keep in the loop so you are notified pretty much as it is deployed. Keep an eye on these discussions;

The exact date is not known as of yet but don't let that deter you. Establish your Flarum instance and get it ready for when the next release does take place. Installing any extensions now will prove to be difficult to update and get back into working order without some simple knowledge and know-how. We're all here to help at the same time should you need it of course.
