FreeFlarum (beta) now supports custom domains

A new SETTINGS section is live at FreeFlarum where you can hook up your own domain with your Free Flarum. A few notes:

  1. You can login with your forum name and a Flarum admin password. NB every admin can login, so be careful who you hand out admin roles to!
  2. Custom names work for domains, such as discuss.yourname.com. Setup: go to your domain provider and add a DNS CNAME record pointing to yourname.freeflarum.com. Then go to FreeFlarum settings and enter your domain name.
  3. Only 1 domain name can be active at any time. If you set up a custom name, visitors of yourname.freeforum.com will automatically be redirected.
  4. A LetsEncrypt SSL cert for your domain will automatically get registered.

                  FreeFlarum now uses Mailgun high quality email delivery

                  Because Hotmail (and only Hotmail) kept classifying our signup mails as spam, I've decided to forget about building IP reputation myself and plugged in Mailgun. It works like a charm. So as of today, Mailgun integration is available to all registered forums, free of charge!

                    Sanguine hotmail hates me as well. Even banned my IP for a week for no reason at all. ? I'm using sendgrid now.

                      Felli I like it, but the extensions section of the admin dashboard wouldn't work. Hosted Flarums cannot modify the code (for the sake of security and maintenance).

                        I see "FreeFlarum aims to be self-sufficient by running a small amount of ads on the provided forums and charging a fee for larger forums (>100 users)." on About page.
                        Is that mean if my forum users over 100 then I cound't use freeflarum free anymore?

                          YohoYang Yes for now. However I am researching the option to keep larger forums free as well. It depends on the ad revenue, which I haven't implemented yet.

                          Guarantee: if, at any point, you are unhappy with FreeFlarum.com, you can always download your forum data and host it elsewhere.

                            And.... Today when I'm config extensions, the flarum was broken.
                            Maybe we need a "reset" button on control panel.
