Ralkage Uploading files and hosting them on his servers takes up disk space
I understand this, and considered it before posting, and I figured this would be the response to my post, but I had to try nonetheless.
Thank you for the link to the Media Embed extension. It does not solve the need/want unfortunately.
Using 3rd-party content hosting for something that should be an inline image for a "How To" post, or even an explanation of an issue, is not in any way ideal in the way that i am talking about be able to post an image.
First, you need an account with Imgur, et. al. (which is also not something you should require your community users to have in order to show a picture of something; it is counter-productive and reduces community participation). Then you take your screenshot and save it. Then you upload it to Imgur. Then you get the link. Then you make your post, and insert the link. Then you have a post that looks like the following, which is what Flarum's own Forum looks like, which is not helpful IMO ...
Here we show how to Enable Windows Firewall ...
<link to some image that you cannot see without clicking on it>
... and some more text ...
<another link to an offsite image that you cannot see>
This is the way a "How To" or Tutorial post should look instead ...
Executing a Configuration Task
Of course, even that ^ is showing an image from an external site, which is not ideal. The Forum itself should host the image.
Ralkage Your request is not practical or beneficial to Sanguine's mission or services
Ralkage This is just my opinion and should no way harm or cause issues with the point you are trying to make.
I do not agree. But that is of course ok. We all have our opinions, even if some of us are wrong ;P
I am just sad that I cannot use FF, that's all ?
