Flarum 0.1.0-beta.7.1 Released

How stable and upgradable is flarum at this point? I want to use it in production and I am willing to accept the risk, but I must be sure that it is at least future-proof, so that everything can be migrated to the stable version as soon as it is there.

pentarou There are supposed to be major changes landing in beta8 which may break many existing third-party extensions. I think once beta8 hits, you can be more confident in taking a forum forward. That said, there are a good number of forums already running (including this one), so their should be some way forward for those wanting to migrate existing forums toward the stable release.

I have noticed that there are many big names that already use or integrated Flarum into their website, so I thought it should be reasonably stable now. I won't be using third-party extensions until the next beta version.

abishekshivan As fast as possible but not faster than it's good for the software and its development.

As development is a process which can at times be unpredictable, it doesn't seem a good idea to make more concise announcements than: It's ready when it's ready.

From the msg in this thread, it seem thing's are going backyards, we went from 14 open to 18 woow , seem like everyone waiting will have to wait close to a other year and that's sad as this platform looks very good.

Tren some issues are easier than others to resolve, though. Don't rely on quantity of issues alone to judge progress.

jordanjay29 I am not but still taking into count this threads first post 6 Jan until now, it's been months not weeks , people are happy about his forum and are waiting for just a stable release to start there project .
It's not like this forum will come with everything but just basic right so the wait for it is a pain in the ass sorry for that word ?

Tren sorry for this but i found you little bit harsh and not kind with Flarum staff and devs ! you know why not go with xenforo or phpbb or others ! for now it's the most beautiful forum we found yes not stable yet but still see with others who it's like impossible edit some stuff easily beside with flarum its free open source and without copyright for now ? ! hmm let's try to think intelligently before complaining or saying that it's not moving forward!

like i said : whoever wants to be beautiful should not complain about the way to go ... its long path !

Tren the people who complain are usually those who always want things handed to them. I can almost guarantee you that if people spent less time complaining about a stable release and spent more time working on "Good first issues" or any contributions to the platform at that, we'd be one step closer to a faster release cycle as well as stable ?

We completely understand where you're coming from but still hope there is a bit more patience left in you whilst the core developers work their magic on making Flarum stable.

I am in the same boat to a certain extent and really cannot wait for stable either. That doesn't stop me from using the software now because if anything bad happens, we have an awesome community here with members specialising in a variety of fields ready to assist.

That's one of the best things I take away from this community so getting to stable is just an added bonus! ?
