Telegram login and notifications by Flagrow, a project of Gravure

This extension adds a "Log in with Telegram" button that uses the new Telegram Login widget and add an option to receive notifications via Telegram as well.

Installation

The extension is currently not compatible with the latest Flarum version.

Configuration

Follow Telegram instructions to create a bot for the login widget.

Then copy the Bot Username and Bot Token to the extension settings. The username and token must belong to the same bot.

If you check Enable Notifications, the login widget will ask for permission for the bot to message the user and an additional Telegram column will appear in the user's notification settings.

Got error when installing with mysql 5.6.30:

PDOException: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1071; max key length is 767 bytes

I don't want to upgrade to 5.7.7 or higher, any other solutions?

Damn it's Linguist all over again...

I'll take a look if I can reduce the column sizes to fix this after I have some sleep ?

Released 0.1.1 which alters the existing migrations to hopefully make them compatible with older MySQL (please confirm if everything's okay).

Also switched the Telegram ID column to integer instead of text. Might be a bit quicker with integer. You'll need to fully uninstall and reinstall if you want the new migrations (only Bazaar currently offer full uninstall) as I had to edit the existing migration or there would be no way to install the extension on older MySQL.

danielperez9430 this is probably not specific to this extension, just a cache issue. Try clearing Flarum and browser cache (php flarum cache:clear, clear Cloudflare cache if used, clear browser cache with CTRL+F5)

kmk I can see an extension in Flagrow...that work like telegram, sending notification to wechat too?

kmk technically yes I guess, but it's not planned to release a Flagrow extension for that right now.

A developer should be able to adapt the Telegram extension for another provider if necessary.

clarkwinkelmann Can I pay for that? I dont have flarum installed, not yet. Righ now my members all on Invisionpower suite but mayority of them using Wechat, I would like have this feature for my members, so they can join wechat and receive notifications by wechat. Righ now I am preparing purchase hosting service for my flarum implementation.

Trustdee is that a message in the Telegram login window, ? I don't think that's a message that the extension itself can produce.

Did you follow https://core.telegram.org/widgets/login#linking-your-domain-to-the-bot ?

Trustdee you need to use botfather from telegram.

Create bot
/newbot
And then give the bot name. Name must be end with bot

/setdomain

Bot father will ask you to chose the bot. After choose , it will reply

After that , enter the domain name that you want to use.

tavousi2 sadly it's easier said than done, as Flarum itself offers no easy way of doing it.
