I've tried to fresh install beta 2, and I got this error "The fileinfo extension is required.". Where can I get that file @Toby ???

aan That's a PHP extension that your server needs to support. See the Installation docs for details.

If you have any further questions about server requirements, please start a thread in Support > Installation.

Dominion It's weird, I got no problem installing previous beta. I think it's caused by missing file from new beta...

aan It's not a missing file, it's just that the previous beta didn't check whether it was supported by the server.

Dominion Sadly the shared hosting I use have disabled the support of the fileinfo extension, so now Flarum is pretty much useless for me. :')

Felli Yeah, I tried test-installing it last night and my provider also doesn't seem to fit the bill.

Time to get serious about looking into VPSes, I'm thinking. 😉

I'm using EX2 hosting. I can choose PHP version and activate PHP extensions I need with cPanel. Are you sure you can't do this at x10Hosting ?

Dominion Pretty much the only thing that can be done at this moment, x10Hosting doesn't support it, so I'll most likely have to use x10vps. lol

Everything worked great, no issues so far.

Do have a small question I didn't delete the configuration file in the root folder since is just settings to the database, but will this cause any problems if anyone upgrading deletes it?

Or do you have to remove it to go through an upgrade wizard?
