Can we see this in action somewhere?

i recommend making the upload folder configurable, instead of hardcoding it in your code, but you noticed that already. The same goes for the URL. Otherwise this extension is not currently very useful to others. There will be an easy settings modal implemented in beta-3 you can use (see my analytics extension for a demo).
The title in the flarum can be a human readable format: File upload. You might also want to specify an icon and a background and foreground.

Hi luceos, thanks for the comments. Yes its a work in progress, a lot of things that need to be done.
- Can you maybe point me to the right file where i can see how tags extension ads configuration options to the backend ? or is that part of the core ? i will take a look at your extension now.
- i am not sure what the second point refers to ? to the settings dialog ? or to the name of my extension ?

The settings modal is an easy way to implement settings in the extension page. That's related to both your questions 😉 However this "easier" settings modal is only available from beta-3 and up.

i updated the code (removed the hardcoded url and path) and fixed some issues.

i want to show attached files in a special way. right now just link to file is shown.
what i want to do is show a filetype icon + filename instead of it.

s9e/textformatter seems to be the right thing for the job ? i just specify a pattern to match (our url/upload) and then replace the matched text with some html content ? would that be a good solution ?
