EDIT: It seems to be working well for me and it does the job really well. I do not have much to add to jordanjay29's excellent summary. Here are a few more suggestions:

Have more than one theme. I am fonder of two column designs since I find three columns a bit busy. I prefer a style more like this, though there are certainly many great ways to make a two column forum theme:

Make the primary tags' descriptions also visible

Add option in profile setting to choose which type de systeme to use like you did in Administration -> Essentiel Setting
