Hesperis Nope, you won't be able to go down from stable back to a beta version.

You will, however, be able to upgrade from the latest beta to the stable version, but that's many moons away.

I tried to upgrade from beta.3 and only got the following from composer. Is this correct?

bkintanar I would think so, but beware, the admin panel will still show that you are using v0.1.0-beta-3. This is a known issue, so don't worry.

To be honest, it doesn't look like Flarum's core has been updated, though.

I had installed this using the zip download a few months ago. Looks like that option is gone. As much as I would like to learn installing from CLI I don't think I am at that point yet or have the time. Will there be a package download in the future? I installed it once (probably Beta 3) and looking at it now it doesn't work. So Beta 4 is not a package, and that's okay, I just want to make sure I didn't miss it?

I read everything on the download link, but it never says where to download and only discusses the CLI. This is the way right? If so, can we expect a package zip in the future? I want to play around with the Beta but I haven't learned or done much with the CLI on SSH. Putty is not my friend. I also want to write about it in my blog, but that can wait of course.

jordanjay29 thanks Jordan! I can probably do it, but I will have to spend a good deal of my day learning and connecting. If the wizard comes back I will jump on it for sure. I have a few large communities that can help me test it. If I get some free time I will jump in though. I need to learn some coding as well. Maybe later this year when I have a lot of time on my hands that will be possible.
