Franz luceos Go with summernote. I spent ages on editors and managed to get summernote rocking. Redactor did not provide near anyway as good. I managed to get true wysiwyg and scaling with a bit of prodding. Was not possible with redactor.

@Franz First of all I think you should concentrate on serving Flarum a normal script install that don't require SSH. 😉

Franz adasiek Not to be a pest but many of us are not asking for a near date nor specific date but rather some range. I run a large forum that needs to be upgraded and would like to hold off for flarum: a rough range would help me decide. 2 months, 2 quarters, 2 years? Anything would be helpful.

Chuck it's fairly simple actually.

You do want to use Flarum. If you would consider any forum software for production environments professionally, you wouldn't take into account any software that has been recently released into stable, a mature package would make more sense for several reasons: bigger community, more extensions, less bugs, tested on a wider scale, etc ..

So.. the reason you ask this question because you actually like Flarum so much (yes!) and actually would like to turn decision making into that direction, but can't because it's not stable.

Bottomline, if you have a deadline for the decision any time soon, pick a mature software package. Especially for a "large forum" like yours.

From personal experience, a quick public release is going to be at the sacrifice of a stable product. I think long term, the better option is always to make a stable, feature filled product first and worry about getting it to market second.

@Toby @Franz Is there any estimate you have for when you think you'll add auto updates a la WordPress? As in simply log into the admin panel, see there is an update to the new version of Flarum, and click Install?

I think this would be an important feature for beta releases since it means a lot more people will be on the latest release.

I also think an update feature like the Discourse one could really be useful for a lot of users. Beta is here for a lot of testing purpose, why not release this extension/tool now ? (If it is seen as a good idea by the staff, of course.)

ItsukiMinami umm you have no idea what your saying (not sure if your actually trolling me) BUT rest assured, i been working with windows servers since win2k and let me say something other then FLARUM all other forum software as we speak I can install under 30 seconds ...mybb, fluxbb, wordpress, phpbb, <etc> except FLARUM.

There you have a windows installer, it asks for the path for the php files and that's it you got it working. It even works with xamp! I been working with yii framework and composer for a year now and no problem.

About other FORUM SOFTWARE, yeah it mostly installs with a zip and that's it BUT I said frameworks, this:

Now for example Flarum is built with Laravel, so Flarum = Forum Sofware, Laravel = Framework. Are we clear now?

What's your approach for versioning? Is 1.0 the version will come after 0.1.0-beta-x or it will be 0.2.x?

dorea 1.0 should be the final release for this beta cycle, yes.
