Import existing users from esoTalk

If you want to manually add them member by member into the database sure, but I wouldn't, reason being is because Flarum is in beta and not for production use as of yet.

Isn't there a way to grab all the existing members via SQL and then import them let's say to the users table of Flarum still via SQL?

luceos Thank you luceos, but I don't care about that. I'd like to just migrate these users. This as I have to switch to FastCGI and currently esoTalsk seems to doesn't work when I use FastCGI. If I'll be simply able to import those users, at least their emails and usernames, it wll be fine for me. Then I'll send them an email. No problem. This way I'll be able to move on and start usning FastCGI. Oh, just to let you understand, the server currently run more than 8 websites, including the esoTalk one. Not just the esoTalk installation. This is why I need to "move on" now, if possible.

Dakoom if all of them are willing to use the pass forget option, yes a raw import might succeed. It all depends on how you do it though, all of these users will also need a proper group 😉 Maybe you should give it a try and if succesfull explain the procedure.

You should perhaps examine the PhpBB importer that is available somewhere in this forum..

M'kay, I checked it but I really don't know where to start.It also import the tags (sections) and I would not really need them.

Hey @Franz, I know you can't tell an exact date for the release, but approx. will it be next month or next year? I mean, as said before I'll need to move to FastCGI, and as far as esoTalk is not working with it, I could try to install a Flarum instance and import all the users manually (yeah, lot of works to do), but at least I'll be able to enable FastCGI for all my websites. So excuse me if I'm asking this, but it could be a really helpfull info for me (even approximatively, as said). 🙂

So, let's say I install a new Flarum and I completely remove esoTalk. Then I open the DB of esoTalk and I export all the users via SQL query. And then I do (on the new Flarum db) something like this:

INSERT INTO fl_users (username, email, join_time) VALUES
('UserExample', 'useremail@gmail.com', 1430328990),
etc.

Should this work?

Ok, I created this file:
Used it and it seems to work. Now I have the dump file and I should be able to import it on Flarum. The problem is that I can't import it right now as I have first to clean it from spammer users. Mhhh, do you have some suggestions eg for a fast way to do this?

So for me the best thing would be to create a simple script in PHP (but I don't know how to do it right now, I'm just googling for it) that lets me see a list of users and delete them from the database in a fast way. Do you have some suggestions?

I did it via phpMyAdmin with the "LIKE" function, so using SQL queries like this:

DELETE FROM et_member WHERE email LIKE '%.ie%'
OR
email like '%.pw%'
OR
email like '%.ua%'
OR
email like '%.pl%'
OR
email like '%.vn%'
OR
email like '%.xyz%'
OR
email like '%.directory%'

Ok, finished. Now I'll try to import it on a Flarum local install to see what's happen.
