FriendsOfFlarum Brother can you add some information about this extension. I visited Sentry website and got to know that it'll track and solve any issues and bugs. But I just couldn't figure out how this extension will play in Flarum? Will it automatically create an issue when something happens in any Flarum website? Or will it track other things or is it just for developers?

MikeJones gurjyot This extension hooks Flarum error reporting in with sentry.

The hardest part about debugging a problem is getting your users to report that the bug happened. With sentry, all errors are send to sentry for your viewing, so you can fix the issue yourself.

In simple terms, when an error occurs on your forum, you'll be able to view details in sentry without having to rely on your users to tell you (and provide you with the trace) about the error.

Hi! I registered in Sentry and add php project. Copy dsn to settings of this ext. Nothing happens when i get 500 error when installing another extension. What I doing wrong?

NikoVonLas When exactly are you getting the 500 error ? When enabling an extension ?

NikoVonLas Not sure why Sentry wouldn't be catching it. I'll see why it doesn't. FYI, Geotags hasn't been updated for beta 8/9.

datitisev this might be a 500 triggered before flarum is booted and thus no extensions are registered/booted.

Still not work. In text log stack trace:

NikoVonLas Should be using the public DSN, not the private, which I'm guessing that's what you mean. I'll try to add some logs or something if Sentry is unable to send the error or the DSN isn't set.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sentry deprecated that distinction. They only provide one now.

luceos @datitisev They only provide the public one unless you go to the project settings and then click on "More" at the bottom of the page. After which it will show the old one as well as some special URIs for security reports (CSP, Expect-CT, etc) along with the URL for unreal engine 4. With that said this may only be on self-hosted sentry installs.

NikoVonLas Yes, you are entering the new one, not the deprecated (which shouldn't appear by default anyway). I'll add some logging to make sure that Sentry is catching the exception.
