Yeah I can certainly appreciate what you mean with the [Support] tagged threads, although at the same time some of the support queries are less about the Flarumâ„¢ internal systems and more to do with simple human error, eg: misinterpreting/or misunderstanding how to correctly use things, and where a little instruction can be sufficient for addressing the issue.
[Tech Support] vs [General Support]
Where tech support is a priority for the Flarumâ„¢ development team, who are actually qualified and justified to provide such, while general support queries would be secondary, and left for proactive Flarumâ„¢ community members to assist with.
Regardless. With the "NecroBumping". I don't really understand why we wouldn't simply delete/archive older/junk threads, and thereby preemptively negating potential "NecroBumping" to begin with.
In addition this would reduce internal searches-(as well as Google et al searches)-propensity for sending people off to old/junk threads, as they'd not exist, therefore rather than people being sent to—landing in—getting frustrated about—then dredging up—worthless old/junkers, instead people would have to create fresh support queries.
I've been a co-admin of a free speech forum since 2020. If you guys/gals are refraining from deleting garbage threads under the assumption that by doing so diminishes freedoms of expression, I would argue that it is actually the opposite. Our freedoms of expression aren't only imposed upon via "censorship" & silencing, but are also imposed upon via being drowned out such that our voices cannot be heard.
One's freedom is equal to one's assumption of self responsibility.
Therefore irresponsible posting = disregarding freedom, thus justifying deletion.
