I know that Flagrow has been pretty silent these past months. It seems unfair to our amazing followers, so here's some information for full disclosure.
So what did we do?
With Bazaar we ambition to provide the best integrated marketplace for extensions. Features we are releasing when Flarum beta 8 arrives include moving extension tasks to the background with cronjobs, get notifications about outdated extensions and best of all premium extensions.
Premium extensions are extensions you cannot install without a subscription. These extensions are not only offered by team Flagrow, because any extension developer can use our platform to ask pay for their hard work as well. Our hope is that we will see a reduced level of abandoned and better, more complex extensions.
Using premium extensions will be pretty easy. Subscriptions are bound to users on flagrow.io, "all your forums that are belong to you" will be able to install them. In case you're using Bazaar it will be even easier, you're able to subscribe to or install subscribed extensions from within your own forum admin panel!
We wouldn't be building all that and not get bored, so we started work on some very fine premium extensions;
- Paywall, allows you to block access to tags by requiring a subscription.
- Backup, allows to backup your flarum installation somewhere else (local, ftp, dropbox and many more).
- Guardian, allows protecting your forum by looking at user irregularities and actioning against abuse.
So what now?
As a Flarum core developer I have a responsibility to be clear about expectations; we're working hard towards Flarum beta 8, it won't be a year but it won't be a week either ? . Once it's with us Flagrow and all premium extension developers will rock your world!
On behalf of team Flagrow, watch the future.
PS. We are looking for experienced developers to join us.
