@DonaldLouch I don't say this too often, but please understand Flarum is in beta. Having said that, it implies you have to do some work yourself to make it work. Did you google the error?

The error is in fact self explanatory; you need to chmod the files correctly. Quite funny, because this error is specific for your hosting environment.

I am so sorry luceos! Yeah, i should've seen "writeable" and know that it was chmod, which I have seen and fixed these errors so many times before from Wordpress... My absolute apologies, I have been a little distracted today.

But yeah, I just removed the group ability to write and it works!

insha, I do believe it was "admin.php", "api.php", "config.php", and "index.php"!

Also, I think I chose chmod 755!

Hi! I am also using namecheap to host flarum at http://venstreklikk.no/forum, but I'm having problems with 500 Internal Server Error. What version of PHP and what SSL are you using to make yours run?

Hey vrakpant,

I am using PHP version 5.6 and I am using the NameCheap SSL so I think it's the PositiveSSL by Comodo!

I ran into a "500 Internal Server Error" as well and I think I just changed the CHMOD to 755 on the files listed in the above post!

I can't find config.php to chmod it ! i can find only .editorconfig

iegyi That means Flarum wasn't installed successfully. Have you installed it completely?
