mekici they had an issue with the author of the post marked as best answer not being included in the response payload, once that was resolved that same post didn't have information on its discussion either. I'm expecting they will PR a fix somewhere in the coming weeks. This issue was specific to them and was possibly caused by their import, the PR will harden the extension though.

I guess I just officially declared myself leader of all Flarum webmasters. If anyone wants to challenge me and take my crown, that requires a fight possibly to the death on the edge of a waterfall.

What I did:

Started registration on Tidelift to find another source for long term sustainability. @Franz did a lot of preparation and communication for this, this helped with making a decision eventually. Tidelift is interesting, because it asks a subscription of companies and delegates these income onto registered open source projects.
Deployed our new site, moving away from GitHub pages so that we can add some dynamic content. First of which is the team section which is now completely based on some of our permission groups on discuss. We've updated the story as well. There's still a lot of things to be done on that end, but we decided to first make the move and then iterate the changes.
Went over some of the PR's and issues. I feel there's not enough time for me to actually make a huge difference on that end right now.
Tried to keep track of all discussions on this forum and might have succeeded in assisting some support questions to be solved slightly faster.
Started process of organizing our passwords centrally for the team and foundation. 1password has an open source plan (thanks @Franz for pointing that out): https://github.com/1Password/1password-teams-open-source
Having a meeting with the bookkeeper in an hour to go over some of the things we need for the foundation, including that pesky w-8ben-e 😛

Noticed a lot of activity from the rest of the team; @datitisev has done remarkably well with shoving code for beta 10 👏. @katos, with the help of @jordanjay29, has been writing his fingers sore while working on an initial draft of our new strategy 🙇‍♂️

Probably missed a bunch, but hey, here's to progress 🍻

rodvay The Flarum project never estimates an exact date for stable or any release for that matter because of the limited number of developers and the features that they are trying to push out. The "Beta" label is more of an extension API thing more than actual stability. I've found it to be very rare for Flarum to throw errors.

luceos But you see I have Sentry installed and monitoring Flarum, so I'd just create a bunch of tickets on Github with the information required to fix said issue. And even (if needed) Sentry credentials to take a closer look at said issue.

Since my last update 6 days ago:

We are putting all hands on deck, because we have the landing strip in sight for beta 10. This is the first fixed release cycle the team has committed to and I can only speak proudly of the dedication and willingness to sacrifice free time in favor of the project 🙇‍♀️
Reviewed a few PR's.
Wrote an extension for the new queue functionality by writing a Redis based implementation for cache and queue bokt/flarum-redis. There are still a few issues to deal with, but it's looking extremely well already 👏 This extension is required to make the horizon extension compatible with beta 10 and up.

Just updated discuss to the latest unstable version. This is part of our usual preparations for the next release. As a consequence you might hit into some bumps here and there. We're on top of Sentry to get everything resolved as soon as possible.

psdlider when it is. Updating discuss here is one of the steps before release, but if we identify bugs that occur in production the devs will need to address them before release.

I encountered Flarum for the first time when it reached 0.1.0-beta.9.
My Flarum project is under shared hosting (PHP
7.2.22 MySQL 10.1.41-MariaDB), "flarum" directory is in root, in "public_html" I have "assets", "docs" and other files (basically - "public_html" is the Flarum's "public" folder). Beta 10 is close... I wonder am I going to have problems with upgrade considering my "setup"? Please note: I followed step-by-step Flarum installation guides, extension setups... For the first time I used Composer to install extension, translated Flarum core into my native language. I would like to continue Flarum learning process and really appreciate your work.

It's not intended that the skeleton (file setup) is going to experience any changes this release, so you should be okay. If it does change in the future, we'll provide instructions for updating the skeleton just like we did for Beta 8.

Hello, I'm currently working on migrating the biggest french motorcylcle forum under SMF2 to flarum (1.2Billion posts ! conversion in progress... ouch! ) My last problem is : the private messaging feature... I know that you are currently working on it for core and that there is an extension. My preference is to have it with the core, do you think it will be released in the stable 1.0 ? Any idea for the stable 1.0 release date ? 😉 Many dev team thanks for your great work !

brian85 we are currently not working on a first party private messaging extension and I am pretty confident when saying it won't be a first party extension at stable either. Your best hopes are the third party extensions in this scenario.
